ADOT Work in Wickenburg

ADOT

Paving work begins on State Route 89 in Congress this week, work hours are 6 am to 6 pm

The Arizona Department of Transportation has started a pavement-improvement project on State Route 89 in Congress from the US 93/SR 89 junction to State Route 71 (mileposts 262 to 267).

This $2.6 million project includes replacing the existing asphalt with a new layer of smooth rubberized asphalt, shoulder buildup, new pavement markers, drainage improvements and other miscellaneous work.

While paving occurs, the roadway will be narrowed to one lane and a pilot car will guide drivers through the work zone. Construction activity will occur during the day with trucks entering and exiting the roadway. Work hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions and closures, but it’s possible that unscheduled impacts might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.
